Bajaj Auto showcases its product lines at 2010 Auto Expo

Bajaj Auto is showcasing its state-of-art product lines of all its four lead brands i.e. Brand Bajaj, Brand KTM, Brand Kawasaki and Brand RE at the 10th Auto Expo being held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Bajaj Pulsar 135LS is the the new entrant in the Pulsar family, the Pulsar 135LS (Light Sport), was launched on Dec 9th,2009. The all new Pulsar 135 is designed to add a whole new dimension to the motorcycle market by creating a new Light Sports segment in India. The Pulsar 135LS is powered with a state of the art 4-valve DTS-i engine delivering 13.5 Ps power. The light kerb weight of only 122 kg gives it a great Power-to-weight ratio of 110.6 Ps/tonne to make it optimum balance of agility and comfort to maneuver hustle-and-bustle of urban traffic.

Pulsar 220 DTS-I, which is christened as the fastest Indian with a top speed of 144 km/hr has raised the bar in performance biking segment. The new 220 gets a performance boost with a 32 venturi carburetor, the biggest ever used in India. The higher engine performance achieved has been matched to a modified fifth gear ratio, to make the new Pulsar 220 “The Fastest Indian”. Bajaj Auto, introduced exciting new upgrade of Pulsar180 DTSi last year. The new version offer unique features with sportier styling like split seats and clip-on handlebars to further strengthen Bajaj Auto’s dominant position in the Premium segment.

Discover 100 DTS-Si: Termed as the Bike with the World’s most Fuel Efficient DTS-Si Version 2.0 technology, Bajaj launched an all new 100cc Discover DTS-Si in July 2009. Positioned as a ‘Long Distance Bike’, it offers Mileage which is way beyond what any existing 100cc bikes have to offer. The break-through mileage of 80 km/lit under actual driving conditions is one major element which has a huge appeal and relevance for the value conscious customer and has propelled its sales to 70,000 numbers pm within 6 months of launch.

Furthermore, brand KTM is now an integral part of Bajaj Auto with an equity stake exceeding 30 per cent and joint development of new hi-performance bikes underway. Brand KTM would bring in highly differentiated designs and hyper performance to Indian shores. The bikes on display are: KTM 990 Super Duke: You can barely find words to express the riding fun and the feeling that the KTM 990 Super Duke gives you when it’s in motion. Just as KTM re-invented the Streetfighter, you try to invent new words for what happens beneath you curve after curve. The KTM 990 Super Duke sweeps through curves – ultra-precise, radical and agile. The landscape flies past fast, faster, much too fast. You feel the road, the centrifugal force and want more.

KTM 690 Supermoto: The beginning of a new legend: the new 690 Supermoto pulverizes all borders. From the high performance LC4 engine to the sporty six-gear transmission right up to the rally-tested exhaust system – it’s all been newly invented. There is a lot in store for customers with the launch of exciting bikes from Brand KTM from the exclusive Probiking retail chain.

Another models displayed is the Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Acknowledged as the best 250 cc motorcycle in the world, it is available exclusively through Bajaj Probiking showrooms. Powered by a 249cc parallel twin engine that belts out 33PS of power, it is a true supersport motorcycle that draws its lineage from the legendary larger Kawasaki Ninjas. As a result it is as popular among casual riders as it among serious enthusiasts. Not surprisingly as it is the largest selling 250 cc motorcycle in the world.
